1st Edition of HortiPro India

The 1st edition of HortiPro India International Exhibitions was organized by UNID Global Consulting Pvt Ltd along with Association of Environmental Horticulture (Maharashtra Nurserymen Association). HortiPro India was the large scale and the influential international brand trade show in Nurseries, floriculture, gardening and horticulture industry in India and was concluded successfully in Hindustan Antibiotics Limited Ground, Pimpri, Pune, Maharashtra, India held from November 15-18, 2018.
The exhibition area of the very first HortiPro India reached unprecedentedly 22,000 square meters, making a breakthrough for the first time in the development history of the industry, attracting over 150 exhibitors and thousands of visitors from nearly 10 countries and regions, namely Canada, China mainland, Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, the Netherlands, USA, etc. Novel products, latest technologies, and new concepts in the fields of nurseries, floriculture, horticultural materials, gardening machinery, garden greening, and horticultural facilities were displayed. We were also very honored to have altogether 25500 person/time from 10 countries and regions, among which, 18937 having visited the expo, 6563 being professional visitors. High quality concurrent activities including Forums, Seminars, Technical Exchange Meetings, Thematic Displays and Flower Arrangement Show were arranged, with warm responses and active participation from the visitors. The expo was highly recognized by domestic and overseas exhibitors and professional visitors alike.
HortiPro India 2019
A new revolution, the horticulture revolution has arrived in India! The horticulture sector has grown phenomenally large during past few years. From a production level of 145 million tones/year at the beginning of millennium, it has reached to 305.4 million tones/year in 2017-18. It has even overtaken the food grain production (279.5 million tones in 2017-18) in the country, by several million tones. This sector has now established itself as one of the largest export earners, employment provider, poverty alleviator (particularly for poor and marginal farmers) and life changer for millions of Indian.
Traditionally, horticulture involved; Pomology (fruit culture), Olericulture (vegetable culture) Floriculture (culture of ornamental crops), and Post-Harvest Technology (management of produce after harvest). However, over the years its scope has expanded to include crops like mushroom, bamboo, medicinal and aromatic crops, and plantation crops like tea, coffee, and rubber. By its sheer size, growth and income potentials, horticulture is fast moving from rural confines to becoming a commercial venture. It the time that it should be nurtured to realize its full potential in a secured, systematic and sustainable manner.
Hortipro India-2019 conference and exhibition are a critical first step in this direction. Organized in Pune, the very heartland of floriculture revolution in the country, on November 14-17, 2019, this international event will showcase growth and opportunities, host learning forums from national and International masters, discuss best practices and success stories, and deliberate on newer technologies, present and future challenges and solutions for the horticulture sector.

Now in its 31yrs, the Indian Nurserymen Association (INA) is the national voice of the nurseries in India. It is the only green industry association serving the households and commercial segments of the country. Members grow, distribute, wholesale and retail plants of all types to residential and commercial customers. INA provides education, public relations, innovation, technical know-how and representation services for raising the industry problems at suitable forum to its members. Maharashtra Nurserymen Association (MNA) was formed over 14 years ago as a state chapter of Indian Nurserymen Association. In its past tenure MNA has provided adequate leadership, support and additional resources to drive key industry initiatives like organizing trips across the state, lobbied and had VAT on plants made to 0 % in the state of Maharashtra, successfully lobbied for removal of Octroi on plants in Pune Municipal Corporation and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation ,successfully organized All India Nursery Convention in Pune in November 2006 and got clarification on nurseries being income tax free in the Union Budget (Finance Bill of 2008) which meet the goals of its industry strategic plan.
